Deaf Owned Business

We are the only Deaf owned and operated Auslan Training Organisation.

Personalised Services

Our tailored services are designed to provide you to learn Auslan at your own pace.

Our teachers are all Native Deaf and qualified Auslan teachers.

Established in 2004, a Deaf man named Darren Roberts founded The Auslan Company after completing his Bachelor of Education (LOTE) Auslan at LaTrobe University with the goal of providing the community with more opportunities to learn Auslan. Today with over 20 Auslan teachers on our books, we are the only privately Deaf owned and non-government funded Auslan training organisation in Australia.

We offer basic introductory courses to more individually tailored courses that can suit all levels and needs of the community, families, schools, kindergartens, and workplaces to learn Auslan in a relaxed and friendly way.

Our passionate and committed Auslan teachers deliver Auslan in a fun and informative way that will give you the foundation skills to communicate with any Deaf person in a social or workplace setting.

All of our teachers are either Native Deaf or qualified Auslan teachers who currently also teach in schools, workplaces and/or in the community.

We have taught, or are currently teaching in: Deakin University, Monash University, Victoria University, Australian Catholic University, and Swinburne University. Our participation in the education sector is vital because in the university system we get opportunities to educate our future doctors, nurses, paramedics, educators, childcare workers, disability, and welfare workers to nurture their awareness and understanding of the Deaf community and their culture that helps to reduce cultural barriers naturally.

One small step in learning Auslan can make a real difference in a Deaf person’s life.

Auslan is our passion and we teach Auslan anywhere in Australia.
